Spread and retraction dynamics of droplet coalescence on a rectangular pixel for organic light-emitting diode inkjet printing

In organic light-emitting diodes (OLEDs) manufacturing, inkjet printing has rapidly become popular due to its high resolution and low cost. However, the mechanism of droplet impacting on a rectangular pixel in OLEDs is not yet clear. this paper, coalescence dynamics including spread retraction stages simulated by software fluent. addition, dynamic model proposed analyze behavior pixel. stage, equation length with respect time derived based energy mass conservation. variational principle instead solving complete Navier–Stokes used simplify calculation. On basis, achieved, theoretical solution agreement numerical result. Finally, influences offset, size, initial velocity are analyzed. Furthermore, paper provides new possibility for heteromorphic microcavity flat substrate.
